Recognizing our Physicians on National Doctors' Day

Contra Costa Health (CCH) proudly recognizes the dedication of our physicians on National Doctors’ Day. Their service goes beyond medicine — they provide healing, comfort and hope to Contra Costa County.
Being a doctor is more than a profession — it’s a calling that requires resilience, sacrifice and a deep commitment to serving others.
CCH doctors ensure access to high-quality care in our hospital, clinics, public health programs, behavioral health services and detention facilities. Every year, they serve 180,000 patients and provide over 40,000 psychiatric visits, offering both primary and specialized care to meet diverse health needs.
The work of a physician is demanding — long hours, tough decisions and the responsibility of caring for people at their most vulnerable. Their impact extends beyond treatment to building relationships that bring comfort and reassurance.
“In a time of a growing physician shortage, our doctors' commitment to this profession and our community is more important than ever,” said Dr. Ori Tzvieli, interim CEO of Contra Costa Health. “They are not just caregivers; they are mentors, advocates and leaders shaping the future of healthcare.”
On behalf of Contra Costa Health and our community, we extend our gratitude to our physicians. Your skill, compassion and commitment do not go unnoticed.
Happy Doctors’ Day to every one of you!
